Biography
Natalie Bookchin is an artist based out of Los Angeles California. She received her bachelors at Purchase College in New York State in 1984 and a master’s degree in photography from the School of Art Institute of Chicago. She is known for teaching at the University of California, as well as being the co-director of photography and media program at the California Institute of Arts.
Her work ranges a variety of topics – globalization, isolation, mass connectivity, labor, technology and online DIY dance videos; as well as a variety of mediums – cinema, documentary, narrative, social issues, and new media. Her work has been exhibited in the United States as well as many European countries, and, of course, cyberspace. She is considered a pioneer in her field.
